You are a Patrol Officer and get dispatched to a call for assistance. Upon arrival, the complainant states the following to you:
I came home today at about 5:00 pm and noticed that my detached garage in the back yard had an open door. I walked over to the door and noticed what appeared to be a footprint on the door. I remember locking the door yesterday. As I looked inside, I noticed a man inside my husband’s car. The man then got out of the car and walked towards me. I turned and started to go back to the house. As he ran past me, he grabbed my purse from my hand and took off on foot with it. I then called 911. I went back into the garage and saw that my husband’s car stereo was missing from his car. I am unhurt and I wasn’t afraid until after he grabbed my purse. The man never said a word to me. The stereo is worth about $35 and my purse and the contents are valued at about $75.
