Coursework 2: Individuals Report based on MiPie Case Study (this makes up 60% of overall assessment of this module):
Referring to MiPie case study, undertake the following tasks and present your answers in the form of a report address to Board of Directors of Mipie.
Task 1: (20%)
The page 2 of MiPie Case Study, presents detail of outsourcing offer that MiPie considered. The board decided not to go ahead with this option and concluded that ‘though outsourcing is a better option financially, however, this is decided not to opt for it on the basis of other factors’.
The first requirement: You are required to clearly demonstrate that how the proposal was profitable as well as provide an insight into the ‘other factors’ that the board would have considered while evaluating the offer (You have to show some calculation in this first requirement).
The second requirement: What would have been the marketing perspective on the proposal? Your answer should not exceed 600 words.
Task 2: (30%)
The first requirement: Provide a clear assessment of the proposed alternative energy resource project on the basis of four investment appraisal methods that the MiPie management has used to evaluate the project.
The second requirement: What is the problem with NPV evaluation? Reevaluate the project on the basis of NPV and clearly state your recommendations (You have to show some calculation – I mean Recalculate). Your answer should not exceed 650 words.
Task 3: (50%)
Provide a well referenced critical evaluation of the role of accounting (focusing on management accounting – read all the slides to answer this Task) in various functions of marketing department of MiPie (You can relate to MiPie, but it’s general)
Also, DO NOT describe, as the lecturer does NOT want descriptive document, so, DO NOT write like this: Management Accounting is contain of…….. Or its function is to…….
