For example, after reading the article about Eli, you may be reminded that teenagers and parents don’t always agree, and that parents don’t always agree with each other. (Maybe this isn’t new news to you – from your own years as a teenager or your years as the parent of a teenager). You might think about the parallels across cultures and families as adult children and their families – our families – grapple with issues of autonomy. There may be universals across families and there may be special considerations when the young person who’s transitioning to adulthood has special needs. You can also be thinking about issues related to collaboration, inclusion, and differentiated instruction as they relate to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
After reading and viewing all of the required material for this discussion prepare an initial post including your? overall impression and reaction to the materials.
