The Program Evaluation Project runs throughout the modules of this course and culminates in Major Assessment #2, Assessment and Accountability in Education. As you complete each section of your Program Evaluation Project, carefully review the feedback. Use the feedback to revise and improve each section of your Program Evaluation Project. Your final task will be to create Major Assessment #2, Assessment and Accountability in Education, tying together the revised sections of the Program Evaluation Project you began in Modules 1-2, are continuing to complete in Module 3, and will finish in Module 6. Major Assessment #2, Assessment and Accountability in Education should reflect the improvements you have made based on feedback. This assignment will serve as Major Assessment #2 for the PhD in Education program.
A. Creating Your Dashboard
Reflect on the questions you identified for your evaluation. Consider what data are required to answer these questions, and the types and quantity of data required to fully answer your questions. Identify the data needed to answer the questions: To what extent is this program being implemented as designed? To what extent is it working? Describe why data reduction is necessary when determining the degree to which a program is implemented as designed. Support your response with specific examples and detail.
What do you consider the seven most important, and common, “Dashboard” items for 1) individual progress monitoring and 2) formative assessments and process evaluations of educational programs? List and explain. Identify 7-10 pieces of Dashboard data that are important in monitoring progress relative to your Project. Which data will answer the questions: To what extent is this project being implemented as planned? To what extent is it achieving the anticipated outcomes? What adjustments may be required to increase the likelihood of the success of this educational program?
B. Formative Assessment Data Needs
Go back to Section 7 of your Project Report and revise your timeline to include collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of these data.
Include the revised timeline in this section. Describe who will collect it, how will it be collected, and what tools will be utilized to collect the data.
Refer to the Logic Model Grid you created. Review your work and determine the extent to which it continues to correctly represent your efforts.
